There is a tendency on the part of educated individuals to wait out what appear to be dips in the academic labor market. For example, there are untold numbers of traditional adjunct college faculty members that continue delivering post-secondary instruction in physical university and college classrooms in the hopes that they will suddenly be selected to join the few on the tenure track. Long semester after long semester these adjuncts instructors with graduate degrees in every conceivable area of academy study work for poverty level wages and do without any benefits such as health care or retirement. Public school instructors at the secondary level are experiencing dismissals at unprecedented levels and there is no indication at all these teachers will ever be able to return to the classrooms or that they will be able to find another traditional teaching position that pay an income equal to one they just lost due to state budget cuts. It is high time for educated people that want to teach for a living to realize that the physical classroom and the physical campus on which it sits is simply too expensive for the academic administrators to maintain. These administrators are now fully realizing that the only cost effective way to meet the educational demands of new and returning college and university students is to apply distance education technology in the form of online bachelor degree programs and online masters degree programs. This realization on the part of the administrators is a strong signal to educations with a Ph.D. or a master’s degree that they should not wait for online adjunct employment opportunities to come to them, but should instead aggressively seek out online college degree programs to teach for each and every day henceforth.

The signal benefit of teaching online full time is the inherent mobility that result from not having to be in any one physical location when access online college courses. Of course, this freedom is the result of the online degree programs being located on the Internet. This geographical freedom for the online adjunct instructor also mean it is possible to apply to teach for a community college, state college, four year university or for-profit college that is located literally thousands of miles from the place the online instructor chooses to reside. The teacher that is struggling to live on the income from two or three physical college classes, and having to spend an increasing amount of that small income on a vehicle to drive between the one or two schools that can actually be reached in an hour or two of driving, should imagine how much better it would be to teach six to ten online college classes from a laptop computer in the lobby of a hotel in a foreign city, the front porch of a house in a small town or in a coffee shop in a less expensive part of the world.

There academy and the academic labor force that serves in it is changing as a result of technology and the educators that want to continue earning enough income to be able to continue to teach should make every effort to learn as much as possible about the benefits of online adjunct employment opportunities as soon as possible. Simply put, the future of education at all level is on the Internet, and that is where any person with the appropriate academic credentials and the technical skills should seek to teach students earning online healthcare degrees, accredited online accounting degrees or an online college nursing degree as soon as possible.

Online college classes can help you avoid a meltdown, and who in these times of uncertainty doesn’t need some help; happily, teaching a handful of online college classes can put a considerable amount of weekly or bimonthly income in your personal pocket. College teachers, traditionally, have depended primarily on state taxes to fund their salaries if they taught at a state institution of higher education. Of course, there are those college teachers who teach for private schools funded by donations from the private sector, but even those institutions, colleges and universities, are feeling the pinch, and the state college and university teachers are being thrown under the bus, so to speak, every day. The truth of the matter is that there will be fewer and fewer full time, traditional college teaching jobs available and more and more online college classes needing an Instructor to take up the slack. Naturally, there will be some protest about the demise of intellectual freedom and how such employment developments bode ill for the nation’s college students, but it is what it is, and those with the brains to figure out that all the protest in the world, all the essays written, all the shocked looks will not change the parameters that are forming in front of college teachers will earn a living, perhaps a very good living: learn how to acquire and teach online college classes if you are a college teacher and want to make some money.

Realize that it may take some time, a year perhaps, to actually make a living teaching online college classes, but it is entirely possible to earn larger and larger amounts as you go along collecting one or two college courses from several online university degree programs, and know for a fact that the number of online courses will only grow from here on out as higher education becomes more and more important to the general scheme of things. The best thing to do if you want to teach for an online school is start searching for open online degree positions with colleges and universities that have caught on, finally, to how cost effective it is to deliver distance education to college students instead of maintaining physical structures that require constant labor to keep open. Another good thing to do is adjust your mindset concerning education as a consumable commodity. Certainly, this view of education goes against the grain, but remember that the grain, a worldview in other words, developed in your mind during a period of history in which higher education was supported by strong budgets. Today, the financial underpinnings for college faculty support is crumbling, and compared to the support provided for online college classes and the teachers required to instruct the students earning an online college degree, is practically nonexistent. The trick to making a living from teaching online college classes is to change how you look at your college teaching skill set and how you offer that skills set to the distance education market.

Earn With Online College Classes

The market for college teachers to teach college students earning online degrees is really out there and it does pay a fair amount for what is required, but it will take more than one stab at that market to find enough online teaching to qualify as a full time income. Probably the easiest was to do this is to set up a rotation system of applying to a large number of colleges and universities that offer online classes to students who want to earn an online college degree. The search will be perpetual, make no mistake about that aspect of this business, but that is the nature of online college classes in the main.
